The village of Charency-Vezin is no different from the typical Lorraine style dwelling of grounded houses standing side by side to form closely knit villages.
The village can be classified in the category of "street village " This type of village is composed of long and wide streets with semi detached houses with facades aligned in two rows on either side of the street. Their low roofs sometimes continue from one house to another without any apparent separation, their roof timbers parallel to the street. The traffic takes up only the middle of the road and the sides are used by pedestrians.
